Acts 12:7 “Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.
How often are we of the same mindset as Peter? When salvation comes we are often still bound by our chains and simply resist freedom. The Children of Israel were of this kind. When they were set free from Egypt by Yahweh, they still carried the bondage of Egypt with them wherever they went.
Here Peter was in prison and physical salvation came to his aid. He was free. But, he thought it was a dream. His chains fell off. He still thought it was a dream. How many of us can say that spiritually speaking? “My chains are gone!!” Would we believe it possible or maybe just a far away, not attainable dream.
